📢 Understanding the 2025–2026 Tax Levy for Brownstown CUSD 201
Each year, Brownstown CUSD 201 sets a tax levy—the total amount of property tax we request to help fund our schools. These funds support teacher salaries, classroom resources, building maintenance, transportation, and the programs that keep our students safe and successful.
💡 Why the levy matters:
• It ensures our schools remain strong and well-equipped.
• It allows us to continue offering quality programs and opportunities for every student.
• It helps us plan for both current needs and future growth in our community.
📈 Why the levy may change:
• Property values in our district continue to rise.
• Inflation increases costs for supplies, utilities, and salaries.
• We are committed to maintaining and improving programs that benefit all students.
We take pride in managing district resources responsibly. While our levy is designed to secure the funding our schools need, we work carefully to ensure every dollar is used efficiently to provide the best education for our children.
🏠 What this means for taxpayers:
Your investment supports high-quality classrooms, safe facilities, and the programs that help our students thrive.

Congrats Lady Bombers!

The BSE Varsity HS Girls Basketball team went 2-1 in pool play this past weekend @ the Pana Turkey Tournament. But, due to a 3 way tie in their pool, they used free throw percentage to break the tie. We ended up getting placed 3rd in the pool because of this. This means they will play this Friday Nov 28th at 4:00 in the Pana tourney vs Mattoon.

Our 1st grade classes celebrated the 67th day of school last Friday! # 6...7!! 🤷♀️🤷
