Parents and students:

We wanted to remind you that school starts on Thursday, August 14. We will have a 2:00 pm dismissal on Thursday. Additionally, the State of Illinois is leaning toward banning cell phones in Illinois Schools. We are not following the potential ban at this time. However, we will be limiting cell phone usage in our school.

High School students may have their phones during lunchtime and during academic support time for those who qualify. This applies to high school students only and NO device that can function as/like as smartphone may be brought to school (smartwatches or similar devices.

Phones may be secured in lockers or the student's vehicle. The school will assume no responsibility for lost or misplaced personal devices. Devices will not be allowed to be out in the hallways, classrooms, locker rooms, walking to and from the cafeteria, and bathrooms.

BSE Jr. High Baseball Info from Coach Miller: We will have our mandatory parent/player meeting for Jr High Baseball at the Brownstown Elementary Cafeteria Wednesday, July 9th at 6:30 pm. This is only for 7th and 8th graders. If we feel that we need to add players to the team, we will have a tryout for 6th graders at a future date. If you can not make it because of vacation, you need to reach out to me before hand. Thank you!!

The Parent/Player Meeting for Golf will be Monday, August 4 at 6:00 PM in the ACHS Tech Room.
First official practice will be Monday, August 11 from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM.

🚧 Coming Summer 2026! 🚧 Since 2019, the Brownstown Board of Education has been working on solutions to address the overcrowding at Brownstown Elementary — we’re bursting at the seams! We’re excited to announce the addition of six new classrooms and a breezeway to connect the two buildings with a brand-new structure being constructed between the Elementary and Jr./Sr. High School. 🎉 The Board has approved Fulk Construction, a proud Brownstown company, to lead the project. The new space will also become the future home of our music and art programs! 🎶🎨 📐 Enclosed is a rough mock-up of what the new building will look like. Exciting Updates to the Gym! 🏀🏐 Work is progressing on the updates to our Junior High/High School gym! A huge thank you to Alred Flooring, Sigma Athletics, and Daktronics for their contributions. The refurbished floor, new padding, and updated scoreboards are all installed. Our students are excited to put the new space to good use this fall! Stay tuned for more updates! 💪📣

BSE boys track member Trenten Monnet won 4th place at the IHSA 1A State Track Meet today @ EIU in the shot put division. He threw 53 feet 0 inches to claim the 4th place title! Congrats to a great season!
