Please have tags/permit and a note from a parent submitted to the office by Wednesday, Nov 19th to be considered a parent excused absence for hunting season. If no documentation is provided, it will be an unexcused absence on Friday Nov 21st. In order for athletes to participate in a sporting event on Friday evening, required documentation MUST be on file with the school.
This year for Veteran’s Day, Mrs. Hoyle invited students from her 7th and 8th grade English classes, along with Mrs. Boaz’s 9th grade English class, to write letters to U.S. soldiers that are currently deployed to the Middle-East. Many of these soldiers have already been away from home for most of 2025.
Mrs. Hoyle was able to mail 57 student letters to soldiers!! We received a thank you from the soldiers in the form of a short digital message and a couple of photos.

Brownstown Jr/Sr. High School and Brownstown Elementary School would like to thank the area churches for providing lunch to the staff on November 5. It was much appreciated and enjoyed by all.

Brownstown Junior Senior High School Needs Your Help!
With the government shutdown, many families in our community are facing difficult times. To provide support, we’re starting our annual food drive early this year to benefit both Caring and Sharing and our Local Food Pantry.
We encourage everyone to contribute in any way possible! Once again, we’ll hold class competitions—the goal is to block a classroom door. Any class that meets that criteria will win a bowling party! The competition begins Thursday, Nov. 6th and runs through Nov. 20th. Thank you for your generosity, and good luck to all participating classes!

Brownstown 5th and 6th Grade Co-Ed Basketball signups are happening now for the 2025-2026 season. If your child wants to play, they need to sign up at school.
The mandatory parent meeting will be on Wednesday Nov 12th @ 6pm in the BES Cafeteria.
The first practice starts Monday Dec 1st.
Requirements: current physical, pay athletic fee ($50 for 1st sports, $25 for 2nd/3rd sport), and completed athletic forms (most did this at registration). All of these need to be turned into Shelly at the BES Office.

The SEB high school volleyball team plays for the regional championship Thursday Oct 30th at 6:00pm @ St Elmo High School vs Okawville. The Brownstown/St Elmo Sports Boosters is paying all high school students admission into the game. Bring your school ID or drivers license and show the ticket taker to get into the game for FREE!! This is for all 9th-12th grade students from Brownstown and St Elmo High School. Let's Go EAGLES!
