Good afternoon
I am reaching out this afternoon to inform you that we experienced an outbreak of confirmed COVID 19 cases in the Brownstown School District today. The outbreak spans across both buildings and includes 3 staff members testing positive, and several other staff members sent home as close contacts to the positive cases; some are symptomatic.
In an effort to limit the effects of this outbreak and prevent any further exposures to students and staff leading into the holiday season, Brownstown Schools will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, November 23, to be cleaned and disinfected. We will be back in session at normal time on Monday, November 29, 2021.

6 students completed the Hunter Safety Education course taught through the Illinois Hunter Safety course. Students had to have all C's or above in order to qualify to take the class. Congratulations to all!
Bass Team had a good practice day on Bloemker’s pond.

K-2nd enjoyed stations in PE today!
8th Grade Art students started paintings on easels in class today. Working on an easel helps students practice good posture and see their work from a different perspective, versus working flat on the table.

Miss Newcomb’s 5th grade class was the winner of the “RED Out Your Classroom” decorating contest! They were rewarded with a RED ice cream sundae party!
