Brownstown Community Unit School District #201 is seeking interested community members to serve on the Brownstown CUSD #201 Board of Education.

Following the retirement of Board President Don Bloemker, who served the district for twelve school years, a vacancy has been created on the Board of Education. The Board is seeking a community-minded individual who is committed to supporting the students, staff, families, and future of Brownstown CUSD #201.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the requirements established by the Illinois School Code to serve on a local school board. Interested individuals should be registered voters and residents of the school district and must meet all other applicable statutory requirements.

Application Process

Individuals interested in being considered for appointment should submit a letter of interest to the Brownstown CUSD #201 District Office by email to dlund@bcusd201.com.

Letters of interest should include:

  • Name and contact information

  • A statement of interest in serving on the Board of Education

  • A brief background and description of community involvement

  • Any relevant experience that would contribute to effective school board service

Application Deadline: October 9, 2026

The Board of Education anticipates reviewing applications and selecting an individual to fill the vacancy at its October 19, 2026, Board of Education meeting.
