SEB HS Cheerleading

Mrs. Deb Hunter has been coaching cheerleading for twenty-one years. Mrs. Hunter was inspired to become a coach because she enjoyed the sport while she was in school and saw a need at Brownstown for a consistent coach. Coach Hunter has been employed at Brownstown School District since 2003 and is also the bus transportation coordinator and drives buses.

Coach Hunter likes to keep up on the latest trends for stunting by watching competitions and videos. The squad hires a choreographer to put together their routines. The girls come up with their own cheers with the assistant coaches, India Sidwell and Shayla Stokes along with Mrs. Hunter. The girls compete in three ICCA regionals in order to earn a spot in the ICCA state series. The girls also compete in the IHSA sectionals competition.

The senior girls on the team were Kearstin Scoles, Abby Durbin, Alisa Rush, Brittany Siebert, and Mannie Grames. The only junior was Marissa Caraway. The sophomores were Chloe Haslett, Amber Sarchet, Hailey Rush, Madi Barker and the freshman girls were Holly Struble and Amanda Koehler.

Coach Hunter enjoys watching the girls work together to achieve their team goals, accomplish new tasks and excel in competitions. She would like to invite everyone to come to tryouts on March 31 at 4:00 p.m. in the elementary school gym. “ You don't need experience, we can teach you!”
