This article highlights Mr. Brent Oberlink, a Brownstown High School graduate . Brent Oberlink is the owner of Lanracorp here in Brownstown, but the company has grown a great deal since its inception. In 2007 Brent and his wife started the business with only two employees. Now in 2014 the business has grown to over 50. Brent has provided many jobs to community members, and he feels that this contribution is one of his greatest achievements. After graduating, Brent was a division manager in St. Louis, but he always knew he wanted to own a business. When he saw the opportunity he took it.
Lanracorp is a contracting business that works with oil and utility companies providing right-of-way clearing and ground maintenance. The business is expanding, and currently they work in nine different states. Brent advises Seniors at Brownstown to take risks, have passion, display good work ethic, and you will go far in life. He believes we live in a world where dreams come true, so don't be afraid of failure. The only failure in life is not taking chances on your dreams. He wants to communicate to students that you should never give up on anything and live life to the fullest. Mr. Oberlink has been inspired by the hardships of great businessman like Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki who have failed, but never quit. BHS seniors need to find their inspiration in someone like Mr. Oberlink.
