With the support of our 94+ walkers, the students at BES demonstrated team effort and encouragement for one another.
For the 22nd annual Red Ribbon Walk/Run, our school logged 3,159 track laps (789.75 miles) and 9,740 Gym laps. Our school could have walked past Buffalo, NY, Denver, CO, Austin, TX or Tallahassee, FL. It is amazing what we can do when we work together! Thanks to all of our visitors for the example you demonstrated while walking with us.
I had a lot of fun snapping photos of my students during our event. I filled my SD card, recharged my battery and still those kids continued to be cute!
After talking with Mr. Travis Redden (the instructor of the HS Publications class), he and his students have agreed to begin creating a Red Ribbon Week tab on the HS website and make a slideshow of our event.
The HS students enrolled in the Publication class have crafted some wonderful stories, and I think you will enjoy reading through their articles in addition to looking for some familiar faces from Red Ribbon Week 2013.
As always, thanks for your support of our students, and the PE program at BES.
The generosity of our staff and students brought in 262 canned goods items to be shared with area food banks. Enjoy the pictures of the students and families that participated during Red Ribbon Week.
