Voice of Democracy

         The VFW Voice of Democracy competition has around 40,000 kids from schools around the country writing on a certain topic. This year’s theme is “My Responsibility to America” and has to be recorded onto a CD or flash drive by November 1st. The audio version can be no shorter than three minutes and no longer than five. One student at BHS will receive a monetary award from the local Brownstown VFW. The national winner receives a $30,000 scholarship to their American university or college. The Voice of Democracy is open to students in grades 9-12 entered into any certified school in the United States. See the official website for more information at https://www.vfw.org/VOD/.
