On Tuesday, March 22nd, the St. Elmo band and chorus held their annual spring concert.  The fifth and sixth grade band directed by Mrs. Amelia Garrard played “Bugler’s Salute” by Carl Strommen.  The seventh grade band performed next, and was led by Director Erick Somodi with “Chorale No. 1” by Johann Cruger and “Soft Shoe Saints” by Amy Adam.  They were followed by the high school chorus singing “Tres Canciones de los Elementos” by Victor C. Johnson movements I. “Escuchar al Viento”, II. “La lluvia está cayendo”, and III. “Fuego!”  Finally the high school band performed “The Great Escape” as arranged by Robert W. Smith and “Mars” (from Holst’s The Planets) as arranged by Jay Bocook.  Congratulations to all performers for a job well done!
