See You at the Pole

For the last 25 years See You at the Pole has been about “students uniting themselves in prayer before God interceding their generation”.  See You at the Pole is a week-long event starting on September 25 - October 1, 2016, but the meeting at the flagpole was September 28. Every year this event is held on a Wednesday at Brownstown High School.

See You at the Pole initiates with bracelets and posters given to students by the people who organize the event. The students involved in the event are assisted by members of the community. Erin Klug helps spread the word by having t-shirts, bracelets, and posters made. She also assists the students with  decision making and activities for the event. Other members of the community serve breakfast to all who attend.

The breakfast wasn't the only reason to enjoy See You at the Pole. Chloe Carson sang multiple songs, Kayla Haslett did fun-filled warm-ups, Sierra Stephens sang a heartfelt prayer, and Delaney Schulze read a devotional.  If the students didn't know the songs or dances they were given papers with the lyrics and were taught the dances beforehand. The warm-ups were goofy enough to get the students laughing. The prayer was for our community, and the devotional told about how God will never leave your side.

Many students woke up early to share their faith, bond with their fellow classmates, and eat a delicious breakfast. Maybe next year we’ll see you at the pole.
