See You at the Pole

On September 12, 1990, forty-five thousand teenagers across four states met to pray for their schools, communities, and friends.  The next year, nearly one million students across America met at their school flagpole to pray and have fellowship.  Now, every year on the fourth Wednesday of September, over three million students across the globe meet to participate in what has become See You at the Pole.  Brownstown has been participating in the event for many years now, and will continue to for years to come.

This year's See You at the Pole was held on Wednesday, September 23 at 7:00 in the morning around the flagpole.  Students engaged in icebreaking activities such as a roosta sha and sang four songs before listening to devotions led by Addison Cage and Kaylee Sefton, who spoke about being united, the theme for this year.  Students then held a group prayer before breaking off into smaller groups to pray on a more personal level.

Nearly twenty students were present at the event along with many volunteer helpers who helped serve food and brought supplies for the casserole and donut breakfast.  These volunteers came from Brownstown area churches including the First Christian Church, the Methodist Church, the Baptist Church, and Liberty Christian Church.  Thank you to everyone who helped out and we hope to see you at the pole next year!
