Recently, Brownstown Community School District school board member John Schaub was interviewed to tell people why he became a school board member and a little about his life. John said he became a school board member partly out of civic duty, but mostly to be a small part of a great school district. Mr. Schaub stated that the Brownstown Community School District, even though it may be small, has been part of big things in the past and he believes that the school will be a part of even bigger things in the future.
John was born and raised north of Brownstown in Sefton Township and Brownstown is where he currently resides. Schaub attended Brownstown CUSD K-12 then attended Lake Land College, where he earned an Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering Technology. John is now a Civil Engineer Technician IV for the Illinois Department of Transportation and has held that position for twenty years. He is also the owner of a small business, Schaub Bros Hardwoods, LLC marketing and cutting timber. Mr. Schaub said, “ I have a beautiful wife named Jacy (who also graces the halls of Brownstown CUSD) along with four sons: Cole who is sixteen, Nathan that is fifteen, Cade who is nine, and Mason who is four years old.” The Brownstown community would like to thank John Schaub for his time and efforts in making this a better place to live.
