Don Bloemker, a member of the Brownstown School Board, feels it is important to be involved in the education of the young people of Brownstown. He believes that the students are the future of this community, and the decisions made by the board can positively impact their futures. Don grew up on a hog farm in Montrose, Illinois and attended Cumberland County schools from Kindergarten through graduation. He now owns a trucking company called Prairieland Transport, hauling both propane and anhydrous ammonia to local farmers. He and his wife, Talisha, will be married for 19 years this January, and have three sons: Jacob who is 16 years old, 13 year old Joel and 9 year old Jadon. From the time Don and Talisha moved to Brownstown in 2005, they have been extremely impressed with the quality of the school and the teachers employed here. He stated, "It is such an honor to be able to be on the board for a district like the one we have. Thank you for entrusting me with this position. To be a part of this school board is a great privilege for me." We would like to honor our active school board members and want to thank them for all the time they put into our school and community.
