On March 24, 2017 the Brownstown Elementary school hosted their annual SCC carnival. The School Community Club is an organization that helps fund software programs, classroom supplies, playground equipment, and much more. Each year they help set up the carnival to raise money for our schools. The carnival has a great turn out every year as our community joins together to help our district.
The night began with a meal and the option of many different activities. All throughout the gym were games set up for kids to play foosball, basketball, golf, a mini dunk game, a plinko game, and much more. Outside they had two bounce houses for kids to enjoy as well as having Bubbles the Clown attend to make balloon animals. There was also a cake walk, cotton candy machine, and face paintings. At the end of the night they raffled off gift baskets, bikes, and other items that had been donated from local businesses. Each class had a theme and students brought in items related to the basket. Some of the themes were movie night, gardening, and summer fun. They also announced the winners of their pie-in-the face contest. The student winner was Xzavier Austin, the parent was Mike Sasse, and the staff member was Mr. Bussard. It is great to see our district come together every year to make this night possible. Please be sure to thank all of our staff, NHS members, volunteers, and parents for making the carnival a great success. Without the overwhelming support from our community then we would not be able to have activities like this available.
