Every year Brownstown’s National Honor Society hosts Pennies for Patients. This organization helps raise money for the leukemia and lymphoma society. Over a three-week period, students tried to raise as much money as possible. To help encourage students donate they emptied out their consoles, wore a hat all day on Friday for a dollar, donated five dollars to play town ball and eat pizza, and gave three dollars to get out of a PE fitness day. The top two classes that raised the most money was Mrs. Campbell and Mrs. Wakefield's classes. Mrs. Wakefield's first-hour class came in first with the highest average of $26.76 dollars per student. Mrs. Campbell's first-hour class came in first with the most money donated with a total of $326.50. The total amount raised was $1,860.47, $700 over the original goal. Thank you to all the students and staff that participated this year.
