Brownstown's National Honor Society will be holding their annual blood drive at the elementary school on Wednesday, October 21 from 3:30-7:30. Blood drives are held for those who are in need of healthy blood because they have been in a serious accident or are ill. When a donor gives their time and blood, they help save a life. Donating blood is a great investment of someone's time, and the satisfaction a donor receives from giving back is outstanding. There are a few requirements when giving blood. A donor must be seventeen to give or sixteen with a parent's consent. The donor has to weigh at least 110 pounds and meet listed height and weight requirements. Also, avoid drinking tea if you're planning on giving that day. Eating meats, fruits, and vegetables the night before will increase your iron levels for the drive. Come to the blood drive prepared to give. We look forward to seeing you there!
