Mr. McFarland is one of the several new faces at Brownstown High School this school year.  He has joined Mrs. Beck and Mrs. Campbell in the special education department as part of his student teaching experience through Greenville College.

Mr. McFarland was born and raised in Neoga, Illinois where he attended high school and became interested in history. When asked why he was interested in teaching he responded with "I enjoy working with all students and especially those with special needs. I felt that if I went into special education I could make a positive impact on many students’ lives." His mission to help students learn and mature into better people has him excited about the year.  Mr. McFarland is looking forward to having a classroom of his own someday soon.

Mr. McFarland played basketball and baseball in high school and he is currently playing baseball for Greenville College. Part of the reason he entered education is for the opportunity to coach baseball or basketball at the high school level and spread his love and knowledge of the game. Say hello and welcome him to BHS. We wish him the best of luck this year and in the future.
