Brownstown Jr/Sr High School has had the honor to receive Mr. Jeff Wooters as their new high school principal. Mr. Wooters has had a lot of experience in the educational field. He worked at Dietrich High School as a P.E., drivers ed, and health teacher from 1992 to 1998. He then transferred over to Neoga High School to become an assistant principal and athletic director from 1998 to 2017. Mr. Wooters said there is no big difference between Neoga and Brownstown, and the transition was smooth. He also gave high praise to our former Principal, now Superintendent, Mr. Mike Shackelford, for how he kept up the school. The district was in such good condition that Mr. Wooters can take the time to get to know people.

Mr. Wooters has always taken great pride in his work ethic. He comes into school by 7:30 and leaves when the job for that day is done. The amount of work is the same because he has always given 100% effort into anything he does. He believes you get out what you put in. The one new experience the principal has had was the Beat Down in Brownstown. He has never been a part of a wrestling fundraiser which he says was very entertaining. A big inspiration to get in the educational field was his older sisters who were both teachers. The reason he chose becoming a principal was because he was tired of dealing with discipline and athletics only. Mr. Wooters knew he was close to retirement and wanted to become a principal before he left the educational field. He says he doesn't think he will become a superintendent because he is happy in his new role, yet, he has not closed the door on the idea.
