The Fayette County Sheriff Association is granting over 100 scholarships of $500 each in the state of Illinois. An essay is required over the topic “Is there a heroin epidemic in your community and what can be done to combat the problem?” To apply go to http://www.ilsheriff.org/ and click on “scholarships”. On Friday, March 10th, Brownstown High School will be showing a film on the heroin epidemic that was filmed here in Southern Illinois. With the presentation, the Brownstown Mayor, police, Fayette County Sheriff, and the county coroner will all be present to discuss the movie with students. The application and essay must be submitted by March 15th. Applicants must be enrolled in a certified institution of higher learning within the state of Illinois. Don’t miss out and apply now!
