For the 2018 Track and Field Season, Brownstown has hired Jessica Sefton as the new coach. Mrs. Sefton is the new health teacher for the High School and P.E. teacher for the Elementary. The track season started with two indoor meets. After about a month of practicing and six rained out meets later, the track team traveled to St. Anthony for the first meet. Coach Sefton says, “I expect this track season to be very successful. We have a number of athletes who perform very well at the meets and I'm excited to see their outcomes by the end of the season.”

The track team has eight people this year. The throwers in shot put and discus are, Macy Cripe and Jacob Baron. Claire Wilhour runs the 100 and 300 meter hurdles, 100 and 200 meter dash, and also does long jump. Willow Brown runs in the 400 meter dash and also does high jump. Justin Karnes runs in the 800 and also does long jump. Colton Bell runs in the 100 and 200 meter dash, and also throws shot put and discus. Sebastian Carmin runs in the 200 and 400 meter dash. Jace McWhorter runs in the 100 and 300 meter hurdles and also does high jump. Good luck to this year’s track team and in all of your events!
