The Brownstown/St. Elmo Bombers high school girls basketball started their season at Mt. Olive on Tuesday, November 17, 2015. The Bombers are coached by Brian Pruett and Vance Moore. Coach Pruett enjoys seeing new faces on the team this year, and watching the girls grow as basketball players, and young adults. Pruett looks forward to building a winning tradition and improving the team’s overall skills.
Pruett stated that this team's strength is their defensive play. This team works well together on help defense, talking to one another, and guarding the ball. Their weakness on the other hand is perimeter shooting. He would like to see this improvement on offensive play because their defense is there, they just need to improve on shooting.
Coach Pruett expects this team to challenge titles for the Regional, National Trail Conference, and Egyptian Illini Conference championships. He also looks forward to play against the Altamont Indians, their biggest rival, on Thursday January 14. He thinks this matchup will be the best game of the season and believes if the girls play with 110% intensity, play together as a team, and have strong defense the Bombers will come out with a win.
Coaches Brian Pruett and Vance Moore would like to see bigger crowds at home games this year. This is a very talented basketball team and he would love the community members, students, and families to come out and support your Brownstown/St. Elmo girls basketball team. We would like to wish the girls the best of luck and success on this upcoming season!
