Food Item Competition

Each teacher received a letter from Paul and Deb Parkison, bringing the Caring and Sharing program to our attention.  They were asking for help in collecting boxed food items to make baskets for Christmas for community members of Brownstown. Ms. Alstat is putting the competition on with the 7th and 8th graders and Ms. Meier is doing the competition with each high school English class.

Ms. Meier is giving the students extra credit points for the items they bring in.  One can or box food item equals two extra credit points.  You can only get up to ten points extra credit points. The canned or boxed food items cannot be out dated and are due by Tuesday,  December 12th, 2017.  Whichever English class that brings the most food items will earn a pizza party.

Ms. Alstat decided to have a competition between the 7th and 8th grade classes to collect the most boxed/packages of food.   The students have two stacks going in my classroom and frequently count them to see who is ahead in the competition.  They are working towards a pizza party for the class who has the most.  I reminded them that it is the season for giving and that they would have done for bragging rights only.  The competition ends on December 14th, 2017.
