    BES Recycles

Over the past year and a half the Brownstown Elementary School has been collecting plastic lids to make a bench to set up outside of the school. A few short weeks ago, the school purchased two benches and a table made from plastic lids. Secretary Shelly Thomason says the company Green Tree Plastics in Evansville, IN were very nice and helpful the day that Shelly and her husband Tony delivered the lids and picked up the benches and toddler table. The eight foot bench the school purchased cost $250 and the toddler table for the preschool area cost $150. Shelly says the school ordered two benches since they collected more lids than they had originally planned on and also purchased a toddler table Green Tree Plastics had in stock the same day Shelly and Tony picked up the benches. The school was hoping for 1,000 pounds of lids and ended up exceeding their goal by collecting 2,600 pounds! A big congratulations to the elementary school for collecting all the lids and purchasing an item many individuals will enjoy for years to come!
