Last week the Brownstown Elementary School hosted their annual reading night. Keri Buscher, the reading specialist at BES, organized the event. Throughout the evening community members and teachers read books to the students and their families. Also at the event was a book fair followed by the play presented by the BES staff called “Junie B. Jones: Captain Field Day” based off of the book. First grade teacher Mrs. Dokey played the role of Junie as she does every year and the rest of the teachers played Junie’s classmates as they prepared for a field day. Staff members performed several chapters from the book, and invited the students to bring their families back in the evening to see the rest of the story. The students along with their families had an entertaining time full of reading and excitement.
