On September 16, BES 4th grade students took a field trip to Conservation Day at Vandalia Lake. At Conservation Day the kids learned about different animal species such as mammals and reptiles. The students also learned about gun and water safety, different types of soil, and environmental precautions. There were many activities in which the students could participate. The students were taught how to throw a life saving device in the water, how to recycle, and also got to pet a snake. The students enjoyed spending the day learning about survival and better ways to protect and take care of our environment.
