BOARD OF EDUCATION

June 20, 2011

 

            The meeting was called to order by President Brian Oberlink at 7:00 P.M.

 

The following members were present:  Teresa Barnick, Danyele Harre, Kent

 

Kistler, Katriena Kroll, Randy Mason, and Laura Willms.  Also present were: 

 

Superintendent Doug Slover; Principals Adam Bussard and Angela Reeter.  Guests

 

were Michele Seabaugh, teacher.

 

             Motion by Mason, seconded by Harre that the consent agenda be                Approve

          That the minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Board of Education

 

held on Monday, May 16, 2011 be approved as presented.

 

          Further, that the Treasurer’s Report be approved as presented.

 

          Further, that the list of bills be approved as presented.

 

          Further, to authorize payment of building operational costs for                  OBM Costs

 

the 2011 – 2012 school year from both the Educational Fund and the

 

Operations and Maintenance Fund.

         

          Further, to adopt a resolution establishing the Imprest Funds                      Establish

(Unit Office, Jr.-Sr. High School and Elementary School) for the 2011 -12               Funds

 

school year as follows:    “WHEREAS, a need exists for an Imprest Fund

 

for Brownstown Community Unit School District No. 201 and a resolution

 

is necessary for official sanction:  THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the

 

Board of Education of Brownstown Community Unit School District No.

 

201 that an Imprest Fund shall be established July 1, 2011 through June

 

30, 2012, at an amount of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) with the

 

First National Bank of Brownstown as depository for such fund; Be It

 

Further Resolved that Mrs. Nancy Kistler be, and hereby is, appointed

 

custodian of said fund and a bond appropriate for said custodian be

 

purchased by District No. 201.  Be it further resolved that said Imprest

 

Fund shall be used for bills that cannot be conveniently held for the next

 

Board Meeting, such as athletic officials’ fees, textbook rental refunds, dues,

 

entry fees, postage, trip expenses, etc.  Be it further resolved to authorize

 

continuance of the Activity Funds for the Brownstown Junior-Senior High

 

School and the Brownstown Elementary School”.

 

          Further, to appoint David Arnold as the Designated Person for                    Asbestos

Asbestos Management for the 2011 – 2012 school year. 

 

          Further, to adopt the attached resolution establishing the                            Establish

Prevailing Wage Rate Scale for Fayette County as established by the                     Wage

 

Illinois Department of Labor.  Further, to authorize that proper filing

 

procedures be followed and to provide for the publication of the required

 

notice in the newspaper with general circulation in the local area.

 

          Further, to retain the legal firm of Miller, Tracy, Braun, Funk and                Retain

Guenther, Ltd. of Monticello, IL for legal counsel during the 2011 – 2012              Firm

 

school year at a cost of $100.00 per month. 

 

          Further, to approve registration/textbook/lab fees for the 2011 -                Approve

2012 school year as follows:  Elementary (K-6) - $60.00; Junior High (7-8) -

 

$75.00;  High School (9-12) - $75.00; Driver Education - $50.00.

 

          Further, that the First National Bank of Brownstown be designated             Designate
